Significant Factors for Keeping Your Canvas Prints Original

By Admin Unknown  |  August 07, 2017
Technology had continually evolved and had innovatively changed the way businesses handle printing jobs. For the past years, the changes brought by technology had beneficially improved the printing process to get better artworks and patch up graphics.

The new breakthroughs had also aided to give in affordable printing rates and easy handling methods. Essentially digital printing had paved to give in fast and efficient printing service that made business easily comply with the needs and demands in the market. Eventually with the aid of the innovations of technology choosing for the right printing media had fostered to create great output.

Primarily people are fond of keeping memories of the photographic happy moments, significant places, favorite artists and a lot more. They keep them as a remembrance that once they had been to that place and had successfully achieved their goals. And because of this, canvas printing had come into realm that had worked to preserve and keep their photographs last for years. The digital printing canvas in particular had ideally created true and original limited edition of canvas art prints.

Mainly in order to protect the identity of your canvas prints and in order to provide valuable canvas prints and protect the identity of your materials you have to consider some factors. The following can be a guide on how you are going to create your canvas prints with the aid of digital printing canvas.

First, your materials should not be easy to produce. In this matter you have to create for a print that should not be easily copied by any copy center.  It must contain a mark that would signify that you are the true owner of the material. Logos or signatures can be good evidence that your canvas prints is really owned by you.

Second, the printing method, techniques and strategies applied should be unique and are protected only through art publication. The strategies hold on how well you are able to produce and artistically develop your canvas prints. Additionally the materials applied to it should be limited and exclusive.

And lastly, it should be legally protected and digitally safe coded. This is where the patent and copyright ruling enters. Your digitally printed canvas prints are marked with copyright symbols or signatures that will prove that the material belongs to you.

The above mentioned can be your guide in keeping the original artworks you had produced. Mainly being knowledgeable of the above factors can help you protect the artworks you had made. Scanning paper prints to digital photos on your hard disk

By Admin Unknown  |  August 07, 2017
metimes you find yourself in a situation when you have to scan paper prints, negatives or slides and store them as digital photos on your computer. Although the reason for doing that can vary there are some common considerations to scanning paper prints. In this article we will go over some of them and try to make your scanning experience easier. There are three types of prints that you might be scanning:
  • Paper prints: the most common, usually at sizes like 4X6 and 5X7.
  • Negatives: also known simply as film. This is the processed film usually 35mm from which paper prints are made.
  • Slides: very similar to negatives used for projecting photos on a large screen.
  •
Scanning paper photos prints. Photo paper prints are easy to scan. You can choose to scan them yourself at home (purchasing a scanner that can do the job is usually cheap and costs less than a $100). You can also choose to mail them (or hand them) to a professional scanning service that will scan them for you and mail you back the originals and a DVD with the digital scans (such services include www.digmypics.com, www.digitalpickle.com, www.britepix.com and many more) There are pros and cons to both scanning at home and using a professional service. If you have a small number of photos scanning at home is easier. If you have plenty of photos using a service might be easier but you can end up spending more money. When scanning at home consider the following:

  • Resolution: the resolution of a scan is measured by the number of dots per inch that the scanner can produce. Most scanners can scan at 1200 DPI or more. Usually the scanner can be set to scan at different resolutions. The higher the resolution the slower the scan and the bigger the photo file size will be. For most paper prints scanning at 300 to 600 DPI is enough but you can experiment scanning at higher resolutions if you feel it provides better results.
  • Speed: If you have a small number of photos speed is not an issue. If you have hundreds or more of photos scanning speed becomes important. To get fast scans you would have to scan at the lowest resolution possible that results in good enough scans – for most paper prints 300 to 600 DPI is enough.. Also if you’re going to buy a scanner check the scanning speed (usually measured in the number of scans per minute make sure that you check the speed at the DPI you’re going to use).
  • Photo feeding: if you only have a small number of photos this is not an issue. If you have many photos make sure that the scanner you buy allows fast and easy loading of photos. Some higher-end scanners will let you load a stack of photos and will automatically feed and scan them for you. These scanners are the right choice if you are planning on scanning hundreds or more photos.
  •
Scanning negatives and slides Scanning negatives and slides is harder than scanning paper prints. In most cases it is easier and maybe cheaper to use a professional scanning service (such services include www.slidescanning.com, www.myspecialphotos.com, www.pixmonix.com and many more). If you want to scan at home your standard flat scanner will not be good enough. In most cases you will need to spend money on purchasing a film/slides scanner. Those scanners are more expensive than the flat paper scanners. Negatives and slides are small high resolution sources and thus require scanning at higher DPI than paper prints. In most cases 2400DPI or higher should be used. The considerations for scanning negatives and slides are similar to scanning paper prints. If you need to scan just a few negatives or slides speed and ease are not important but if you’re going to scan hundreds or more you should spend more money on scanners that can feed the negatives or slides automatically or can just load a roll of film and scan it.

    Quality Poster Prints

    By Admin Unknown  |  August 07, 2017

A good poster design does not only mean being legible enough for people to read. It requires, above all, a clear expression of the idea, service or product being advertised.

Posters have been around for ages. It has been used by monarchs and politicians since the 18th century to announce gatherings, advertise entertainments and any other events.  It has been used for commercial purposes and for propaganda. Additionally, it has been used by political organizations or charitable institutions to announce any event they may be planning to carry out. Today, there has been a massive revival of interest in poster for interior embellishment. Among the most popular posters are movie posters, reprints of World War I, and photographs of celebrities and animals.

A good poster design does not only mean being legible enough for people to read. It requires, above all, a clear expression of the idea, service or product being advertised. These promotional materials are now easily, quickly and affordably produced. Whether your poster printing need is small or large, many companies now have printers that will match any of your needs. If you want a customized poster, you can always choose among the different paper types, font types, and backlit media. All you have to do is provide your printer with your files and they will produce the poster for you.

In poster printing, your imagination is the only constraint. To create good designs, it is important that your first consideration must be the poster’s purpose and application. Think of who your target readers are and from them you can create a design that will best meet your print needs. Keep in mind that your poster will be displayed in a public area and will have to compete with other posters. That is why it is essential that you produce a truly creative and appealing poster.

The size and shape of the poster will be the first thing that you should consider when designing it. Consider the places where you will most likely put your poster and you can use this information in deciding which size, proportion and shape is appropriate. Next you have to create the information that needs to be conveyed. It is vital that the information to be communicated is simple as much as possible to make sure that it is communicated clearly and vigorously. Also, carefully select the typeface that works for your design. And if possible present a number of alternative designs. After the design and printing process, you are now ready to put your poster to the test.

So make that poster work for you. Make wise decisions when it comes to your poster printing needs.

    Producing Canvas Art Prints

    By Admin Unknown  |  August 07, 2017
A very recent technology allows for artists’ original paintings to be replicated on canvas. Prior to this an artist who painted an original work on canvas would have to have a reproduction made on paper. Unlike a paper reproduction, one printed on canvas can be displayed without glass and matting, and also looks like an original.

There are two main ways that person can produce canvas prints. They are by canvas transferring and printing directly on the canvas. Both can produce high-quality results, and can be made to look as close to the original as possible.

When it comes to reproducing an artist’s original canvas art prints, it is obvious that the reproduction should look as much like the original as possible. By using several techniques, it makes it easy to produce canvas art prints that look just as good as the original.

Transferring to make canvas art prints is the most common of the two techniques. It begins with a standard, offset paper print that is made in the traditional way from the original. The print is then coated with a series of special chemicals that are designed to allow the paper and the ink to separate from each other. That means when the paper is removed, the ink remains.

The canvass is then prepped with adhesive, and the film is carefully laid on it. Pressure is applied to bond the film to the canvas, which is then set aside to dry. The result is a beautiful canvas art print that looks very much like the original.

Printing directly on the canvas to produce canvas art prints is the second most commonly used method.

Other methods used consist of direct offset printing, where a piece of canvas is run through an offset press; Repligraphy, where a hot-melt color dye printing system is used to create an oil-based film that adheres to the canvas; and Artagraphs, which features a mold of both the artist’s original brushstrokes and textures.

How can you tell if a piece of art is the original or a canvas art print reproduction? Although it may seem hard, there are clues that someone can use to tell what is real and what is a copy.

The first is to look for limited edition print numbers, which are normally found at the bottom of the work in xx/yy format. When producing canvas art prints, a reproduction often leaves this out.

Canvas art prints are usually completely flat or have small applications of hand-applied paint that is referred to as highlight. If the canvas art print is flat to the touch, then it’s probably a reproduction. Originals mostly include areas of texture.

Highlights can be obvious to see. A hightlight can be simply a small dab of paint, which is quite different from an artist’s actual brushstroke.

Other options include using a high-powered microscope to look for standard dot patterns and/or calling a gallery to see if they have someone who can identify your canvas art print as an original or a reproduction.

How Creativity can Increase Productivity: Decorating your Home Office with Motivational Art

There is no reason why your home office should only be characterized by books, papers and gadgets. Taking the time to personalize your work space can have immense benefits for your state of mind. In particular, surrounding yourself with motivational art can fuel productivity and inspire you to achieve more. Decorating your home office walls with the beauty of art may transform your mood, and printed words of inspiration may transform your business!

You may not be aware of it, but there is an enormous array of motivational art available. So, how do you find the perfect piece that complements your work space? Start by thinking about what you would like your office to say about you. For example, if you are the type of person who proudly maintains an organized and highly efficient office, you may want to choose a piece of motivational art that supports your belief in discipline or excellence. Motivational art prints come in a variety of designs, but each has a unique message. Choose a message that says a lot about who you are and what you believe in.

When John Taylor quit his job after 15 years of service, he was just a little apprehensive to say the least. He had enjoyed his role as account manager for a large advertising firm, and had acquired a great deal of knowledge and experience. Making the decision to leave his job was not an easy one, but John instinctively knew it was time to pursue his life long dream of starting his own small marketing firm. When John said his farewells, he received many good wishes and wonderful presents, but one gift stood out from the rest. It was a beautiful poster of a triumphant mountain climber standing atop a majestic mountain, and below were the words, “He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life”. For John, the words rang true and soon the poster became the focal point of his new home office. During that first rocky year, whenever John felt unsure of his decision to leave a life of stability, he looked up to that poster and reminded himself of the necessity of having courage in life.

If you are just moving into your new home office space, or if it is high time that you redecorate your existing one, consider the addition of motivational posters. The variety of posters available guarantees that you will find one that speaks to you. Embellish your office with a stunning image and change your mentality with words of inspiration.

    Making Up Short Run Prints

    By Admin Unknown  |  August 07, 2017

Short run companies enable businesses to have advertising materials in small quantities available in such a short time.

The main purpose of an advertisement is to sell goods. The first important thing to consider in making up a promotional material is to see that the principal products and best items are well represented. Likewise, it should not be forgotten that the general appearance of the material should be eye-catching and pleasing. Some businesses are fortunate in making up an effective advertisement but others are not. Thus, to make up an effective advertisement that represents a combination of vigor and ease, it requires considerable experience with considerable innate wit.

It is often inevitable for businesses to have print jobs needed in such a short time. Oftentimes, in instances like this the quality of the material is sacrificed for quantity. Because time is limited business owners just settle for anything that is affordable and fast without considering how the print out will look like. Fortunately today, short run companies enable businesses to have advertising materials in small quantities available in such a short time.

Say for instance it’s another crazy Monday morning. You came in for work fifteen minutes late, you forgot your compact powder again (which in your opinion you can’t live without) and you haven’t even put your bag down yet when you heard your boss buzzing with his usual I’m-not-in-a-good-mood tone. So as a good and dedicated employee as you are you came in his office with his coffee and morning paper hoping to soothe his bad temper. But unfortunately your effort did not work. He gave you a brochure design and told you to have it printed in hundred copies and he wants it in his table by Wednesday. It was like Judgment Day for you. No printing company would accept a print job in such short notice and in such a small quantity. At that very minute you wanted to call badly for every superhero known in history (if only they were real) to do the printing for you. After all, their super powers can greatly help you with your dilemma. But this is the real world and you need real heroes.

With the advancements in printing technology available these days, it has become possible to have a small print job done in a few days. Gone are the days when you have to order a minimum number of copies in order for the print job to be cost effective. These advancements have given small businesses the opportunity to print glossy high-quality professional-looking materials at affordable prices. Even large companies have taken advantage of this innovation as it has significantly saved the companies time, money and effort in its marketing strategy.

Hence, now that you know of this modernized printing technique you need not fret when your boss asks you to print materials pronto because he will be pleased with you when you have his brochures on his table by Wednesday morning. You need not turn to the superheroes because now you have your own superhero to turn to.

Journey – From Photographic Prints To Films

    By Admin Unknown  |  August 07, 2017
Photography has come a long way since the invention of the Daguerréotypes and the Calotypes. Photographic prints are as important to photography as is the camera. You can have the camera, the technology but if you can’t take a photographic print, you can’t see how the picture has come out.

Though, with the advent of digital cameras, the use of photographic prints has been taken to the point of becoming obsolete. The Daguerréotype process involved the use of metal sheets and a positive silver image was fixed on top of the metal sheet. William Henry Fox Talbot was the man responsible for moving a step ahead by using a negative through which multiple prints could be made.

Around 1856, Hamilton Smith patented a process termed as Tintypes. The process used a thin sheet of iron as the base to yield a positive image. In 1889, it was made simpler by George Eastman, who realized the true potential of the photography market. He released a film that had a flexible base for easy rolling. The emulsion coated cellulose nitrate film base made the process of shooting images easier.

Now photographers could carry their boxed cameras without worrying about the large and cumbersome plates. Eastman’s first camera was launched in 1888 and came with a preloaded film. Once the pictures were taken, the camera with the films had to be sent to the Kodak factory where these films were translated into photo prints.

Even though the camera was well on its way to popularity, the film rolls were available only in Black and White. So Photography of that period was devoid of colors. B&W films were made of cellulose nitrate that is a chemical compound that is similar to guncotton. A film with a nitrate base will deteriorate with time and in the process would release acidic gasses and oxidants. The nitrate base film was also highly flammable. Nitrate films actually built the foundation for the first flexible roll films. It also created the base for development of the 35-mm roll film in the mid 1920’s.

By the end of 1920, the medium type roll film came into existence. This film roll was 6cms wide and was covered with a paper sheet to make it easy for anyone to carry it along in broad daylight. Nine years later, the TLR or the twin reflex camera was developed.

By the beginning of the 1940’s, the film roll market had gained momentum and color films were born. Though by 1935, Kodak had already developed their color film called Kodachrome. The new color films used the dye-coupled colors technology. This technology used a chemical process, which connected the 3 layers of dye together to create a color image. This system is still in use.

The next discovery and development was that of a Triacetate film that was fireproof and more flexible. Most of the photographic films till the 1970’s were using this technology. The films used now come with T-grain emulsions. These are basically light sensitive silver halides in the shape of a T to render a fine grain pattern.

In the age of the digital cameras, it is hard to really imagine what next will come out of the Pandoras Box.

How To Choose The House Blue Prints That Are Right For You

    By Admin Unknown  |  August 07, 2017
The house blue prints that ultimately build your home is a choice you will live with day in and day out for as long as you live in the home. This is why it is so important to choose the right person to make those house blue prints for you.

My husband and I just went through the process of building our home and we went through quite the ordeal in getting our own house blue prints done right. I wrote this article to make your process go a bit smoother.

The first person we talked to about our house blue prints was a real jerk. He would make his own decisions on how our house should look and wouldn't explain to me why my ideas could not be used instead. Customer service was obviously not a priority in his eyes.

It is very important to find a company that will actually listen to and explain things to you when you have questions and ideas. After all, it is your home. You will be the one living in it.

Sometimes it is just easier to choose from stock house blue prints and just have modifications done to them to suit it to your needs. That way you know what your house will look like right from the beginning.

A great source to find some high quality blue prints is - http://houseblueprints.thebestreview.net

Find a company that has a lot of experience in both customer service and creating high quality blue prints. If I had knew this from the beginning, I would have saved myself a lot of time and stress.

If the company does not care about you and your questions, they don't deserve to have your business. When I finally came across a great company I was so relieved. They actually explained things to me and the whole process went beautifully.

The most important thing to remember is to know what you are paying for. When you're looking for stock house blue prints or custom blue prints, you want to know all of the costs up front.

Many people will have 'hidden fees' or costs you have no idea you will be paying until you receive the bill. Find out exactly what you will be paying before you sign a contract or make a payment.

How To Buy Inspirational And Motivational Art Posters And Prints

    By Admin Unknown  |  August 07, 2017

Have you ever noticed your reaction to visual stimulation? Sometimes you see a photograph or painting, a sculpture or an object and your attention is immediately riveted!

For whatever reason it communicates to you and it is personal. Not to say that other persons won’t get impact from the same visual, but what it sparks exactly is uniquely different from person to person.

We all have our own personal adventures and experiences throughout our lives so when you see that print of a quaint outdoor coffee house, that print may bring you back to that wonderful coffee house in Paris where you took your honeymoon. You may buy it just because it brings back that wonderful pleasure moment.

You’ve heard before that when you look at a painting or sculpture that you try to see what the artist was trying to communicate, but from the viewpoint of a consumer, it’s not about what the artist sees, it’s about what it communicates to you and believe me, you can have two people looking at the same thing and their viewpoints will be different. Heck, some people buy a picture because it has the right colors in it that match their furniture! Nothing wrong with that!

Buy a print because you truly love it! Whether you purchase an original painting, print or poster, it is the one that you love you will probably keep for life and pass down in time to your children.

Throughout your life your décor will change many times, color schemes will change many times, but your art will still be with you.

When you walk into someone’s home you get an overall feel for the people that live there and if you are left alone for a few minutes with no one to talk to because they are off to make you coffee, chances are that your eyes will wander all around the room and a good piece of art will grab your attention. Even family photographs are looked at.

A great piece of art is the focal point in a room and your décor can be built around that. If all you know is a piece of art you love but have no design skills, then fear not. There is help there too. If you cannot afford a designer’s help then you can start by looking in furniture stores and seeing how rooms are put together, or you can look at model homes to get ideas.

Surround yourself with beautiful art. After all, art is universal!

    Enjoy!

    Gustav Klimt Prints

    By Admin Unknown  |  August 07, 2017

Gustav Klimt and his paintings, prints, and art.

Austrian symbolist painter Gustav Klimt was born in a small town near Vienna in 1862 and educated at the Kunstgewerbe Art School. Klimt, as well as other symbolist painters, were part of a 19th century movement that infused art with mysticism by using mythology and dream imagery in order to paint the language of the soul. Klimt, however, was one of the most controversial. His use of symbolism in his work was considered too deviant and his art was constantly being criticized for being both too sensual and erotic. Klimt paintings that were so heavily disdained during his time are today considered to be some of the most important paintings ever to come out of Vienna.

Gustav Klimt began his career as an artist in 1883 when he formed Kanstlercompanie (an organization consisting of a group of artists) with his brother Ernest and a friend named Franz Matsch. They were commissioned by theatres, museums and churches to decorate the walls with murals and paintings. One of Klimt's most famous paintings Tragedy was commissioned by the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna. In 1893, Klimt and Matsch had a falling out over a commission from the new university of Vienna to decorate the ceiling of the Great Hall. Klimt never again accepted another public commission and the company dissolved. Almost immediately following this break with Matsch, Klimt's painting Philosophy was exhibited at the Paris World Fair and won the Grand Prix.

Gustav Klimt paintings are distinguished visually by their elegant gold backgrounds and mosaïc patterns. Thematically, Klimt celebrates life, as demonstrated in The Kiss, a popular painting of a couple embracing passionately. However, at times, his paintings also juxtapose the joy of life with the certainty of death. Paintings such as Hope (a pregnant woman surrounded by pale solemn faces) offer the viewer a unique and profound experience of happiness at the beauty of life and sadness at the inevitability of death simultaneously. Gustav Klimt died of pneumonia in Vienna in 1918. Fortunately for the world, his work lives on.

Giclee Prints - Affordable Fine Art

    By Admin Unknown  |  August 07, 2017

“Giclee” is a style of fine art, which incorporates the use of modern day printers, predominately 7-color to 12-color format ink jet printers and digital art work.

The process is becoming more popular amongst modern day artists who regularly paint in digital format; hence there is no “original” artwork as such.  It can also prove very beneficial to artists working on a tight budget, as they are able to reprint copies of the digital original on demand hence less wastage.  The Giclee style is also being used to produce enhanced prints of older original artwork, which is digitally scanned as a starting point of the process.

The beauty of Giclee art is the fact that any digital artwork can be reproduced on a number of different media, including canvas and specialist papers giving a very professional look.  The quality of today’s printers is such that rather than the old dot patterns the flow of coloring and texture is very smooth, offering an excellent finish.

While the Giclee procedure can be transferred to any style and format of fine art, it has become particularly prevalent in the tropical regions, with Hawaiian Giclee prints becoming much sort after in the art world.  While initially the Giclee format had received a luke warm welcome from the more traditional of the art world, it has now taken a firm place as a modern day art form.  Galleries are now accepting Giclee artwork into their shows, and the collectors are showing a real interest, resulting in the emergence of a Giclee market place.

In an art world often set against any new styles or procedures, which go against the traditional methods, Giclee is starting to make a big name for itself and is becoming more and more popular.  This really is a case of traditional art embracing modern technology.

Getting Great Photo Prints From Your Digital Camera

    By Admin Unknown  |  August 07, 2017
Just because you have a digital camera and an inkjet printer, doesn't mean that quality prints are guaranteed.  Learn the key components for getting great photo prints when printing them yourself.

The first step to getting great digital photo prints, is to make sure you use a good quality digital camera.

Digital photos are gaining popularity over traditional film photos because of the features and convenience associated with the newer technology.  In some cases it's even more cost effective to print your own photos at home instead of taking them to a developer or sending them in.

Here are some words of wisdom for making great digital photo prints at home.

There are really 4 key components to a great printed photo: Image, Printer, Ink, Paper.  Each is part interrelated therefore equally important for success.

The image is the starting point for a good photo.  There are many different camera models out there, but in general, you will need at least 3.2 megapixel picture taking ability.  Some snazzy digital SLR cameras have 8 megapixels or more.  The camera should always be set to the highest resolution while taking the shots just in case you want to make enlargements later on.

Image transfer is crucial!  Do not just throw the highest pixel image at some paper, you may not be happy with the results.

Sometimes, too high of a pixel count will create unsightly jagged color transitions in your photo and waste a lot of your ink and time. Too few pixels and the photos will turn out very "grainy".  It's usually best to stay within the 200-300 pixels per inch range.

This chart may help you determine your appropriate photo sizes.

Print Size : Good Results (200 ppi) : Excellent Results (300 ppi)
    ========================================================
    4x6 inch ... 800 by 1200 px (~1 mpx) ..... 1200 by 1800 px (~2 mpx)
    5x7 inch ... 1000 by 1400 px (~1.5 mpx) .. 1500 by 2100 px (~3 mpx)
    8x10 inch .. 1600 by 2000 px (~3 mpx) .... 2400 by 3000 px (~7 mpx)
    11x14 inch . 2200 by 2800 px (~6 mpx) .... 3300 by 4200 px (~14 mpx)
    16x20 inch . 3200 by 4000 px (~13 mpx) ... 4800 by 6000 px (~29 mpx)

    Legend
    ========
    px = Pixels
    mpx = Megapixels
    ppi = Pixels per inch

    (data compiled from PC World.com)

For example, if you had a picture taken with a 1.5 Megapixel digital camera, a 5x7 inch print is probably the largest size print that would work.  Anything larger than a 5x7, may not look good.

However, if you had a picture taken with a 14 Megapixel camera, you should be able to print out a 11x14 inch print with excellent results (300ppi), or a "good" looking 16x20 inch print at 200 ppi.

In addition to the digital camera image, there are a few other components that go into making good quality digital photos you'll want to be aware of:  Your printer, the ink cartridges you use, and the quality of the photo paper you use.  Each component factors into your end result.

    Doing Digital Photography Prints

    By Admin Unknown  |  August 07, 2017
In this transition phase of analog to digital photography, everyone knows the difference on how each images is processed into a nice print. For analog photography, the negative (film) is developed into photos in small shops called developing studios, low-end or high end, available some walks away from a nearby establishment.

They come in cheap price for every piece of shot but they come expensive in rolls. This is the conventional way of accomplishing photography. Nowadays there is digital camera mania everywhere! Who would not want private photograph shots from a handy dandy digital camera, where printing is done at home at one's convenience?

Convenience and privacy are the perfect words for digital photography. The question is how convenient is it to produce a copy? About privacy, there is no doubt, when you take a shot with a digital camera, it does not have to go out of the house.

All you need is a printer. When you need a printer, the array of other needs will start to fall in line one by one because it takes the following to create you own printing of digital photography. For a good digital photography printing, you will the following:

    - A high-resolution digital camera with at least 2 mega-pixel resolution
    - A stand-alone digital printer (no need for a computer)
    - Fully loaded personal computer

It goes to show, processing digital printing at home is not cheap. The mania is only applicable to those who have PCs at home. Let's say you have all the equipments for digital photography printing, the next requirements are quite complex than it seems.

Digital cameras are capable of deleting undesirable shots at once. There is no more worry for wasted film for bad shots. Now it is time to transfer or load your images to your PC.

At a subdirectory you will see the photos transferred into digital files commonly in JPEG or RAW format. In the future, this will change.  The setting and configuration of your digital camera will greatly affect the output you expect.

The very important aspect to be understood when doing digital photography printing is having knowledge about RESOLUTION. What you see in the computer monitor is not what you will see in the printer. This is overwhelming for beginners. Dot representation or pixels comprise an image.

At minimal requirement, a setting of 300 dpi (dots per inch) will already make a good print. For better prints, resolution must be higher. Expect the computer to slow down, assign a realistic values.

Decorating on a Budget? Use Old Prints

    By Admin Unknown  |  August 07, 2017

Transforming the mood of a room with art doesn't require a trip to a Sotheby's auction or even buying original artwork. Read on learn about an inexpensive alternative

Redecorating doesn't have to cost a fortune. You don't have to buy new furniture or even repaint. It's possible to change the ambience of a room simply by changing the art on the walls.

Transforming the mood of a room with art doesn't require a trip to a Sotheby's auction or even buying original artwork. Old prints, such as those from magazines and newspapers from the Victorian era, can transport you to a different age and allow your imagination to take flight.

Say that you want to redecorate your sunroom using old prints. You could go with a botanical theme, and surround yourself with antique prints of botanical gardens. For example, you could take an illustration of the Palm House Royal Botanical Gardens from an 1852 issue of "The Illustrated London News" and pair it with a 1902 old print of the Coronation Bazaar Botanical Gardens from "The Graphic." Or, you could opt for botanical prints from James Sowerby, which are hand colored. A wonderful and inexpensive way to use botanical prints in budget decorating is to create a triptych (a set of three) of Sowerby's detailed drawings that are matted and framed.

If you prefer subject matter other than botanical prints, there are a variety of themes available in old antique Victorian prints. Birds, animals, theatre, and even war themes were all common in prints from the 1800s. The detail and beautiful colors in old prints add a richness and depth to any room.

Again, keep in mind that using old prints in decorating doesn't necessarily mean that the entire room needs to reflect Victorian taste or style. In fact, the contrast between old prints and more modern decorating touches will make the room more interesting. For example, if you're a theatre buff and are decorating the room that contains your entertainment center, prints depicting actors from the Lyceum Theater in London or even theatre reviews from newspapers and magazines from that era would provide a striking contrast to your flat screen, HDTV.

However, if you do want a Victorian-era room and are decorating on a budget, you can use paint and stencils to bring your theme to life on your walls, and can inexpensively re-cover throw pillows. Consider using an old shawl to put over the back of a couch or lace to cover an end table. Instead of changing the lighting in the room, simply change the lampshades to reflect a more Victorian feel. See if you can talk your grandmother into lending you her ornate candlestick holders, and then find old prints of Victorian social life to adorn your walls.

Ultimately, decorating on a budget is about coming up with imaginative ways to bring a fresh look to your home. By using old prints from another era, you can build a bridge from the past and present while adding a layer of interest and intrigue to your room's decor.

Decorating in a Victorian Style? Don't Forget the Old Prints!

    By Admin Unknown  |  August 07, 2017
Although Victorian interior design doesn't suit everyone's tastes, the Victorian style can be adapted and implemented in a variety of pleasing ways. Whether you decide to replicate a true Victorian drawing room, or simply wish to add a Victorian touch here and there, the following general themes can serve as a guide.

    Victorian Colors

With color, you can go one of two ways. Light colorwashes typify rural homes in the early Victorian era, while deeply vibrant colors reflect the more upscale Victorian home. Bright colors, including reds, greens, oranges, and blues, are appropriate, as are deep, dark earth colors.

But the Victorian color story doesn't stop there. Victorian rooms most often used one central color, but incorporated many other colors as well. The Victorians were not known for their tone-on-tone sensibilities. Green, blue, and yellow may be the palette of one room, while red, orange, and brown might be incorporated into another.

    Victorian Textures

Color is only the first chapter in Victorian decorating, as the use of texture in Victorian rooms is key. Texture is achieved in a wide variety of ways. Moldings, for example, are a central element in Victorian design. Wallpaper is also used extensively, particularly floral, scrolled patterns and embossed wallpaper. Similarly, texture is achieved through techniques used in the application of paint, such as sponging, stenciling, and even painted leaves and trellises.

    Victorian Fabrics

Texture is also expressed in Victorian interior design through the use of fabric. During the Victorian era, fabric was key, and was incorporated into heavy, ornate draperies that often featured elaborate valances with fringe and tassels. Furniture was covered in rich fabrications and upholstered in such a way as to add even more texture to the room.

    A Modern Twist

Today's eclectic decorating styles enable you to successfully bring a Victorian flair into your room or home without having to mimic every element of color, texture, and fabric. You can borrow from the rich color palette while maintaining modern furnishings, for example, or simply carry a Victorian theme throughout a single room or your home by using Victorian old prints.

    Victorian Old Prints

Victorian old prints come from publications, such as magazines, newspapers, and books, from the 1800s. The antique prints are originals (as opposed to reproductions), and are prints made from either wood engravings or copper engravings. Many are in black in white, but others are hand colored.

Victorian old prints can reflect the social history of the era, with themes like architectural structures, fine art, and the theatre. They can also reflect historical events, such as war and battle ships. Many old prints depict the Victorian interest in classifying and cataloguing natural history, so you can find amazing botanical, bird, and animal prints.

Decorating with old prints is as simple as matting, framing, and hanging the art in your Victorian room or throughout your home. Victorian old prints bring a sense of authenticity and immediacy to your decorating efforts in a way that today's fabrics, textures, and colors cannot.

    Canvas Prints and Canvas Art

    By Admin Unknown  |  August 07, 2017
Canvas prints are fast becoming a contemporary way of decorating living rooms, and sitting places all over UK and Europe. A canvas print is essentially a print reproduction of a photo or artwork on canvas. The patterns and designs used are what define and make canvas prints special. Cheaper than commissioning a painting, yet as elegant and eye catching as any normal canvas painting, canvas prints are fast become a quick and effective way of making a statement, the best part is that canvas prints are available in a vast array of printed medium. From digitally printed canvas prints to the traditional yet impressive, off set printing based canvas prints, almost all major art works have been reproduced using canvas prints.

Before a canvas print reaches the beautiful and arty finish that you see, there are a few steps that are taken to ensure that the canvas you view is prim and perfect. Once the canvas and the method of printing is selected, the photograph is first analysed to gauge the feasibility of the print, although almost all photographs and images, can be converted into canvas prints, however all professional canvas printers make sure that they let the customer know if there are going to be colour and quality variations. You should be prepared for minor colour and quality variations if you are told so by the printer.

Once the canvas print is printed, the next step is trimming the canvas and preparing it to be mounted, or as the technical term used is 'stretched'. Stretching is a specialized task and involves the mounting of the canvas on a wooden frame, and then setting it so that it emulates a canvas original and does not loose the charm and effect of a canvas painting. After the canvas is mounted and affixed to the wooden frame, the canvas is then finally made ready for delivery. Stretching is a specialized process, and is one of the major reasons, why people prefer leaving canvas prints to  professionals. Stretching is usually included in the overall cost of buying a canvas print.

Based on the end result of the border the canvas is said to have 'bled' or not, if a canvas was allowed to print to keep the trimming and mounting process in mind, and the end result has no white margins then the canvas is said to have been printed with bleed, in the other case there is a particular area only that is printed, and the white canvas shows only at the margins. Make sure you are aware of both results, as some people actually like the canvas print without bleed as it makes the print look even more authentic (a regular painting does not usually have a painting on the margin).

The biggest advantage that canvas prints of today have is that, with the evolution of printing methods the results are absolutely breath taking, and are ideal for any contemporary home. These are some of the things you need to keep in mind before you actually go out and get yourself a canvas print for your home, or as a gift for someone special.
